This year, Smile Saturday will be held on November 1st from 7 AM to 1 PM at our office. Recipients of services are accepted by appointment only and are selected on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to an approved application based upon financial needs.

Smile Saturdays 2022 was a HUGE success!! We were able to exceed last year’s amount this year in donated (100% free!) dental services! A huge shoutout and gratitude once again to Dr. Talon Davis and his crew South Arlington Smiles who partnered with us this year. Also, we can't emphasize enough the staff here at Pine Cove Dental who love people and love our community - Dr. Levy Do, Elyse, Cinthia, Trang, and Christa. Waking up at 6 am on a Saturday to volunteer is no joke - Y'all are awesome!

When I decided to take a leap of faith and founded Pine Cove Dental, I knew I would need the support of this wonderful community, and that I would have the opportunity to give back. Part of that commitment came in the form of serving as the Dental Director of the Mansfield Missions Linda Nix Clinic, a 100% free dental clinic serving residents living in the Mansfield ISD area. In an effort to serve as many patients as possible, we decided to focus on pain control and geared the clinic towards dental extractions. We saw the waiting list cut in half in as little as a few months, all by the efforts of volunteer Dentists, assistants, and students. However, when COVID-19 spread across the country, we had to pause our operation due to restrictions and the reduction in volunteers. Partnering with Dental Health Arlington, a reduced-fee clinic, we've been referring those who call us for care there; however, Smile Saturdays is a special project that allows us to donate dental services and encourages other offices to do so right in our offices.

In the midst of this uncertain time, I know many of our patients in our community have lost jobs or even loved ones who were the sole provider for their families. With rising inflation and cost of living, I know there are many of you or people you know who are struggling financially and are not able to afford your regular dental care or have put on hold the essential care you needed. Growing up in a large poor family, we never had much materially, but we always had each other. And now, we're here for you. My team and I came up with "Smile Saturdays" to help meet that need. It is born out of Compassion. It is based upon a call to serve (Matthew 25:40) and to do what we can for our brothers, sisters, and neighbors. It is a day of FREE dental care for those in our community who need it most. This is the beginning of hopefully many more Saturdays and God willing many more offices joining our cause to serve.
